The World's Richest People are Chinese, not Americans.
"The net worth of median households is basically nothing. We have major problems in our economy.' – Carl Icahn.
Four years after defeating the US in battle, in 1955, Mao told colleagues, “If we can’t overtake America in 100 years we don’t deserve to exist. We should be wiped off the face of the earth”. Less than seventy years later, China overtook America.
Today, Chinese are much richer than their American and European counterparts, they live longer, healthier lives and their children graduate from high school three years ahead in STEM subjects. Before we examine China’s rise, however, let’s review the West’s decline:
Most Americans have saved less than $10,000. Only 0.1% hold $5+ million, the minimum required for retirement.
“Twice a week the YMCA holds a free food distribution for the military community, and every week, there are more families in the line than food to serve.” NBC News, 8/2/25.
The official US poverty rate is 11.6%, with 38 million people living in poverty. US Census
“Most Americans don't earn enough to afford basic costs of living, analysis finds,”
Megan Cerullo, CBS News.
The bottom 50% of American citizens own 2.5% of national wealth. St. Louis Federal Reserve.
In 2007, the median US homebuyer was 39 years old. Today, she’s 56.
In 2025, the average Dane works 6500 hours for each year of retirement. Their Chinese work 4600 hours.
Last year, the median net worth in Germany’s richest city, Berlin, was $89,000, says Bundesbank.
How China did it
American workers’ real incomes have not risen since 1975, their savings have fallen steadily since 1989 and the results are undeniable.
Chinese workers, by contrast, have doubled their real incomes every 10-12 years since 1955 and they saved 35% of their incomes every year. In 2020, urban Chinese families’ median net worth was $200,000. In 2025 it will be $250,000.
Our media and government will suppress news of this change for as long as possible but, once it becomes common knowledge, it will permanently change the world.
I’ll speculate about that revolution next week.

Thank you for this. Pertinent facts. That's what we need. Good one. Now it's up to everyone of us readers to pass the URL around. The sooner it does become 'common knowledge' the better.
There is another thing, too, that we need the facts about and need for it to become commion knowledge, perhaps this site may do us the great favour of putting it up. It is this:
What advantages will accrue to us ordinary people if the stifling dead hand of america is removed from our throats?
To put it somewhat melodramatically as everything is these days, with 'clickbait' titles and all.
But in all seriousness, very, very seriously, we all are shocked, dismayed, disgusted by the performance of america this last couple of decades, and the by the performance of our own nations as they toady to america.
Very, very understandable now that america is clearly complicit in multiple genocides etc.
We see america is doing untold harm all around the globe, everywhere, everything it touches.
It becomes impossible to countenance supporting the american cause.
So what do we do? Support the 'defeat' of america? i.e. it's ruling 'mob' whoever/whatever that is? It's ruling stranglehold on the world? It's ruling edicts and demands and blackmails?
Ok. We must. It seems obvious. We want america to stop what it is doing, being what it is being. That literally means 'defeat' america. Not the people but the filthy owners/controllers of the place.
Now all our craven leaders doubtless 'lick american ass' because they're told "if we go down, you do down'. Don't you think? That's the blackmail I'd say. If you have a better idea, tell me, tell us all.
So they, our leaders, don't consult us, the people, for all politicians know their constituents are too oafish and primitive to understand the sophistications and intricacies that they the clever politicians understand so instead of consulting with us they simply accede to america's wishes.
That's what's going on.
We are all complicit in America's wickedness throughout the world because america demands we be under threat of 'going down with them'.
So: that's what we need from some astute source such as this one:
A serious, sensible accounting of just how we the people would gain or lose by the removal of american hegemonic control over world trade, world finance, world economics, world politics.
Where would we lose?
Where would we gain?
That's what we the people want to know even if we don't currently ask for it, don't seem to know we want to know it. Nevertheless it is one main concern. In fact our only real concern.
We are pretty sort of 'amoral' beyond our own kin, our own interests. Primarily our number one interest is: how does it profit me? How does it effect my safety? My comfort? My future?
And nobody is telling us anything.
We are looking at smoke and mirrors, distractions and entertainments, propaganda and myth.
Endless spruiking millions of words about every tiny aspect of every latest manifestation of america's villainy.
But never a word about what it all means to us. What it says about what our futures could be, would be.
America seems so huge. It wants us to believe it is huge. So huge that it is everything. Every thing. No america, no world is what it tries to tell us.
But it is 5% of the world in population. It produces virtually nothing. It cannot feed nor supply the world on the one hand and it cannot absorb the world's production on the other.
If america suddenly 'crashes' as so many people prophesy, so many hunger for, so many people fear, what will that mean for us?
Left in a globe with the remaining 95% of the people of the world. How will we get along?
Without america dictating who trades with whom and what prices will be paid and exacting their toll from everything. How will we fare?
With every nation in the world free to buy our goods and sell us theirs at whatever price the market reaches? With intellectual and cultural barriers down and free mixing of people and dissemination of truth rather than censorship and 'blackouts'.
What will it mean for us?
Will it be disastrous, as america would have us believe?
Or will it be a boon?
Please, if anyone knows the answer or knows where the question has been seriously discussed, tell us, give us the references, the links.
And perhaps, please, this very venue may do a piece on that vitally important question?
