a few other things China also does differently from the west:
1. it doesn't count many non-essential services in GDP calculation - most small businesses like barber shops or food stand are not taxed based on their sales - rather on a generalized adminstrative tax basis which doesn't entail accurate accounting of sales revenue (ergo rolled up into GDP)
2. it doesn't count imaginary accounting contraptions in GDP such as imputed rental income (estimated rent value for owner-occupied housing), which fully constitutes 6% US GDP. This is a pure accounting entry and represents no production or exchange. Given China has 90%+ home ownership vs. US 60%, China could have artificially boosted GDP by 8-10% for an apple to apple comparison. But it chooses not to do that as it is meaningless. On the other hand, UK, Italy and a number of European countries estimate total "value" of prostitution and illegal drug trade into GDP calculation, which probably makes your regular economist blush.
3. State controls capital rather than the other way around. People like Elon Mush and Peter Thiele can heavily influence who runs the US, Sheldon Adelson can give Trump $100 million to move US embassy to Jerusalem. Jack Ma has no say who runs the West Lake District in Hangzhou where Alibaba is headquartered. Regulatory capture, legislative capture or Zionist capture is unique to the world's foremost democracies and its cronies.
They're more common now. Here's an article from 2021, when they were just coming in:
Beijing Megvii Technology Co., Ltd., an artificial intelligence company, built an intelligent "Dark Factory" model workshop for a motor and drive manufacturer in Zhejiang Province.
From steel plate factories to mobile phone factories, from household motors to rocket ignition device parts, more and more Chinese companies are moving towards intelligent production, introducing a 24-hour uninterrupted and unattended production "Dark Factory" model.
“Dark Factory”,also known as a smart factory, it is named after the machines in the workshop can operate automatically and do not require lighting. Under the wave of intelligence, black light factories can reduce labor costs, improve production efficiency and product quality, and can produce some dangerous goods to ensure the safety of workers. 2021 - Sep - 08

China is the hope of the world. It may fail but if it does the future looks dark and short
Great stuff! Thank you!
Everything written here is 100% true
I want to know more about 'dark factories'
